Girl with braids

Braids have become one of the trendiest hairstyles this summer during festival season and will continue to remain popular even after summer. Braids have consistently remained fashionable amongst centuries, being traced all the way back to 5000 years ago in African Culture to 3500 BC, as they were prevalent amongst women, making it easier for them to work without their hair getting in the way. Braids have been used to symbolise wealth, marital status, age and rank throughout history. However, now braids are one of the most common hairstyles, as they’re easy to maintain; and look stylish with any outfit during any season.

As a creative team, Fowler35 took a subtle approach to these braiding and twists, achieving a tribal look with a feel of being in the wilderness. The majority of the hair has been kept natural. Using hair accessories, in combination with your braids, creates a bold and magical statement overall.

To achieve this bohemian tribal wildness look, the easiest method to begin your braid is to divide your hair into three individual strands – left, middle, and right. Then take the left section, cross it over the middle one. Then take the right strand and cross it over the new middle strand. Continue doing this until you’ve reached the end of your hair length, and there you have the perfect braid!

Braids are perfect for taking you from day to night as they create a lovely wavy texture for your hair once taken out, it’s a versatile style for everyone. L’Oréal’s extra strong fixing spray can be used afterwards to maintain the waves and give it extra hold, while also giving your do a glossy finish.
